The parish is lucky enough to have outstanding scenery and landscape, and there are designated nature reserves either in, or neighbouring, the parish:-

• Cooks Field, Wookey Hole (Somerset Wildlife Trust)
• Lynchcombe, Wookey Hole (Somerset Wildlife Trust)
• Wookey Hole Caves
• Vigo Woods, Rookham

A short drive beyond the parish are

• Priddy Ponds
• Shapwick Heath
