Memorials
There are 3 memorials in the parish - a small plaque in Dulcote for the fallen of the First World War and 2 in East Horrington St Thomas's Churchyard.
The main local war memorial is in the churchyard of St Cuthert's Church, Wells, where a significant Remembrance Service and parade take place each November.
Sgt Sidney Carpenter was a casualty on the third worst allied shipping disaster of the Second World War when the troopship SS Kedive Ismail was torpedoed in 1944.

J C Carpenter of the South Wales Borderers died in India of Cholera in 1918.
Christian Denning died on board HMS Black Prince during the Battle of Jutland, whilst JAS Ridewood was killed on board HMS Pegasus very early in the First World War, on 18 September 1914 and is buried in Dar-es-Salaam CWGC cemetery.
Wm Clarke is perhaps Colour Serjeant W Clarke (6675) who is buried at Kut War Cemetery, between Baghdad & Basra in Iraq, killed on 19th March 1918.
European Theatre
Private Reginald Ware, East Surrey Regiment, was just 20 years old when he died on 16th October 1918. He rests in Romeries Communal Cemetery Extension, near Cambrai, France. He lived on the Frome Road.
